I am thankful for my friend, brother and fellow Haggai Leader, Pastor Soon Lee of FGA Kepong, for the opportunity to minister at his church some years ago. I had been researching and reading much on evangelism and discipleship and had the opportunity to share some of this at his church. Having shared all, it is clear that as you go and make disciples, many will reject the message and the message bearer leading to people not wanting to associate with you, and perhaps even wanting to kill you. Jeremiah felt the same way.
Jeremiah 20:9, "Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not."
It is clear he was under tremendous pressure to stop speaking God's Word but could not hold back. Later in the chapter he wished he was not born. He must have come against tremendous opposition. But he carries on speaking with God on His side.
I will speak without fear of rejection or persecution. The message of the gospel must be heard. My relationship with God is not exclusive. It is for ALL.
Father, increase my love for people so that I can show them your perfect love.
