I used to meet people who would ask, "What is your star? We all know what star they are talking about. And, you probably have an affinity towards talking about this. However, thankfully our lives are not driven by the year, month, day and hour we are born in. However, there are many people in the world that draw their personal income (and wealth) from being able to tell you the significance of such a thing. Jeremiah 10 has a mention of this.
Jeremiah 10:2-3
Thus says the Lord:
“Do not learn the way of the Gentiles;
Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven,
For the Gentiles are dismayed at them.
For the customs of the peoples are futile;
For one cuts a tree from the forest,
The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
Are we into astrology and horoscopes? Verse 2 specifically speaks against these. It says that these "customs" are vanity because God is in charge. The rest of the chapter could be considered seditious but it is straight to the point. There is much logic in how God warns the people of Judah. Speaking very clearly against hand made gods.
I can only operate with the power, strength and wisdom of the Lord. He is my Lord and Savior. There are no uncertainties in life when God is in charge.
Father, may the readers of my blog today not be offended, but instead consider a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe and the provider of ALL LIFE.
