Valentine's Day is one of those days which evokes a once a year special expression of, or need for love and endearment.  Yes, climaxed to this day for good memory.  I personally wish people Happy Valentine's each year.  However, why do we wait for this day?  Everyday is a valentine moment.  I love my wife very much.  Coupled with that, I love our children very much all the time.  We are one family and nothing can negate this bond.  Likewise we are in a permanent bond with God.  Nothing can separate us from His love. Ezekiel 16:8 “When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine,” says the Lord God. The message in this chapter is clear. God loves His people Israel. Contrary to public opinion, if there was one, I am not so keen on having wild animals in the same confined space as human me. Imagine a rat, a bat, or even a bird caught in a room unable to find a way out while dear me is in the same room. This has happened to me before. I am glad I survived those incidents, along with these wild animals. As I read this verse, I understood the feeling. Psalms 124:7 Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. The bird wants to be free. It wants to reenter the nature that it understands. Being in a cage is unnatural. It does not belong there. However, the sad truth is that some of us believe that we need to stay in the cage. It is unnatural but perhaps because you are unaware of all that is outside you stay in that "open" cage. There are many living their lives suboptimally. There is much more outside the cage. Get out! Do you believe in dinosaurs? Many Christians are challenged by this. You might say that if dinosaurs existed then evolution is true. Because they were in the prehistoric period before man existed. If evolution is true then God did not create the world. How then can you reconcile the evidence of these creatures during the days of Job? Job 40:15 “Look now at the behemoth, which I made along with you; He eats grass like an ox. I was checking out this verse in the web and I came across this cute video that you must watch. Check it out here . The Bible predates Charles Darwin obviously. You wonder why he never tried to make sense of the existence of man with the Word of God. If you miss connecting the information in the Bible, you will go crazy trying to explain away other modern day evidences that contradict evolution. Father, remove the blindness in people's heart and let them experience your great love.

In this new year, like the last, we may be disinterested in the lives of those around us. Or perhaps worse. You desire bad things on them. Why are we so selfish? Fault human nature? Maybe even God? Man can be rather vicious. We could walk around with an attitude that befits the worst movie character that you have ever watched. But God is quite different. Job 33:29-30, Behold, God works all these things, Twice, in fact, three times with a man, To bring back his soul from the Pit, That he may be enlightened with the light of life. God is totally interested in us. He never has and never will desire bad things to happen to us. That is not His nature. This is God supernatural. His great interest is in our wellbeing. He wants us to succeed. The verse says that He wants to bring us back from the Pit (aka Hell). May this new year be the year that you discover God and have a personal relationship with Jesus. Father, let me not pass anyone without at least praying for them.
