Are you superhuman? You may qualify to be the great leader that needs to save the earth. Everybody is saying the earth will come to a tragic end in one way or another. Whether it is the environment, space rocks, religion or war, people are either resigned to these, or a minority are actively doing something to counter these time bombs. Satan has already planned for this superhuman. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Paul gives us a glimpse of what is to come. Revelations says more and I will soon be reading that this year. People think they can out think God. There are stories of Chinese emperors where the people were not allowed to look at him. The whole time they have to keep their heads bowed, even when they are having a meal with him. Such was the power that was held by these emperors. They were regarded as gods. But, God is greater than these mere humans. Psalms 76:6 At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both the chariot and horse were cast into a dead sleep. Nothing can beat His all powerful presence and ability. After all, He created the heaven and the earth. When we look at our troubles they are nothing to God. The people of Israel were under attack from chariots and horses, but God would intervene and put them to "sleep". We therefore should not be perplexed. We will wake each day with full confidence. There is no problem too big He cannot solve it. Father, I know I serve a big God. Help me when I don't believe this.

Growing up in Asia you have a sense of impatience. Impatience in getting successful. You did many things to get ahead. You were taught to do everything possible to get rich and settle into a comfortable life. Many times this entailed engaging in unethical behavior. This verse is a warning against this. Psalms 62:10 Do not trust in oppression, Nor vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them. The biggest problem caused by greed is corruption. In my language they call it "kopi money". It used to be small and allow the recipient to afford a coffee with each transaction. Now the amounts are huge and sophisticated. This is simply unfortunate and evil. It impacts large numbers of the population of a country. The only real solution to this problem is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Father, I pray many nations around the world will see that they need Jesus.

Are you feeling guilty about something you did recently? That sense of guilt is normal. We have a God given conscience that says what is right and wrong. However, we tend to overcome those guilt feelings with temporal feelings of happiness and gratification from doing the wrong things. Psalm 10 is a psalm of prayer about the wicked. Psalms 10:13 Why do the wicked renounce God? He has said in his heart, “You will not require an account.” There is a false sense of security that no one is watching your wrong actions. No one to give account to. However, most every religion in the world seeks to provide a way out for wrongs or sins committed. They may pray for the departing soul. Or, could make sacrifices. And no one is really sure what happens after death. Only God can reconcile man to Himself. His intervention is needed. Our human efforts are useless. Jesus says, "I am the way , the truth and the life. No man comes to the father except through me" and He died on the cross ...

It is always difficult for me to watch a movie where they showcase injustice. I suppose this is the main reason why I never liked watching Indian movies. Most of them have very little "feel good" through the whole movie, and usually someone good has to die in the end. However, many watch this. It is probably because they identify with the injustice. It is awful how this makes people remain in their state of destitute and promotes violence. Job shares some of the injustices that happened during his days. Job 24:7 They spend the night naked, without clothing, And have no covering in the cold. Job 24:10 They cause the poor to go naked, without clothing; And they take away the sheaves from the hungry. Job speaks of how God allows all this. He does not know that this is an inheritance from their fathers. The sin that so easily entangles man. Remove God and you have this situation. Yet again there is another bombing by a terrorist group targeting innocent people. When is this going to stop? Are they a part of the world's fastest growing religion? In ancient times there was a Jewish king that also shed innocent blood. 2 Kings 21:16, Moreover Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides his sin by which he made Judah sin, in doing evil in the sight of the Lord. Great judgement was proclaimed against the people of Judah for this. Manasseh  constructed and worshiped many gods. He made many human sacrifices to his gods. It appears that in these modern times these terrorists groups are doing the same in the name of their god. Father, I pray that they will find Jesus who is the way the truth and the life.
