I remember going through Business School and doing all kinds of business cases.  You learn in theory what you need to analyze to find the right solution.  However, the world is not perfect and information is never complete.  I am reminded that there are many uncertainties in life.  However, there is one thing I am certain of.  "He will take care of it", is the word. Who?  God!   Ecclesiastes 11:1 Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days.  The writer of Ecclesiastes says things in this chapter in jest. At least that is what I observe it to be. How can bread on water find its way back.  This is a great illustration of how one is to trust God. Verse 4 says, "He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap." Absolutely!  There are many things we cannot see and understand. But guess what. Yesterday I wrote about being in a corner. Today, let me reflect on the stress, or perhaps distress, that you would experience when you are in a corner. Again, I am sure everyone has experienced this. But through the years I have been impressed by God that He will take care of it. So was the case with David when he was facing 600 grieving and angry men. 1 Samuel 30:6, Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God. In this chapter David goes on and seeks direction from God as to what he should do. God says to pursue the Amalekites. Part way through, 200 of the 600 men become too weary to continue the pursuit. With 400 men David defeats the Amalekites but distributes the spoils to everyone, including the 200 left behind. Sometimes in life you have to make difficult decisions. It may be the better of two decisions where the end result for both are painful. There is a phrase that aptly describes this situation. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Abraham faced this predicament when Isaac was born and Ishmael watched with a terrible attitude. But God gives a promise to Abraham. Genesis 21:13, Yet I will also make a nation of the son of the bondwoman, because he is your seed.” Abraham had to send Hagar and Ishmael away. But, it is mentioned here that Hagar and Ishmael had a visitation from an angel. They got water to drink in the middle of the desert. He takes on an Egyptian wife and starts to become the great nation as promised. Eventually his descendents also had visitations and the gospel was shared to them. This video may surprise many but the Arabs, who are descendents of Ishmael, also received the gospel but they seem to have gone wayward after accepting the truth . Back to Abraham. He con...
