Return to the original

I grew up with a great reverence for God. But somehow it did not feel right to pray to man made images, sculptures and photographs. My quest to know more led me to know a God that loves us so much that He came to die for our sins. I believe He spoke to my ancestors but we chose to replace Him with images. The temples I used to worship at are designed like the Jewish temples. Psalms 99:1 The Lord reigns; Let the peoples tremble! He dwells between the cherubim; Let the earth be moved! The Psalmist clearly speaks about where God dwells when He met with the people in ancient times. This is repeated many times in the Old Testament. We have shortchanged ourselves with hand crafted images. It is time to return to the Creator. He loves us. Our good works and show of reverence can never get us to heaven. Only Jesus can save us. Father, break the blindness of heart and reveal yourself clear.

He has an open door policy

Man is in a complete state of denial. They do not understand how exposed they are with the things they do in secret. How silly they are to think they can get away with it. Nothing is hidden. Everything is known. All is captured on the most sophisticated system ever created. God knows. Psalms 53:2 God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. As the Psalmist says, God is seeking men and women who understand God's nature and are seeking Him. The sad truth is that they keep going back to created things as their gods. Other men, nature, or things created by the hand of man. And man thinks they can get away with things because they see the limitations of these gods. Using corporate language, "God has an open door policy". He wants you to come in and talk. Don't delay the blessing on you and your family. Father, I am so blessed that I can turn to You at any time. Thank you so much.

He will take care of it

In the old days when a story book or movie is ending, the writer will create and present a happy ending. When you read children's books it would say, "and they lived happily ever after". The book of Job finishes that way. Job 42:16-17, After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. So Job died, old and full of days. He lost everything, but God restored everything double. He even needed to pray for his friends that falsely accused him so that the wrath of God would not be upon them. His relatives came with gifts of gold and silver. I especially like this verse. Job 42:2, I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. Job had complete confidence in God. He understood God's nature and ability. Are you struggling with something today? Lift up your hands to Jesus and cry out to Him. He knows best what needs to happen next in your life. Father, I know "You w...

Repairing the offended is not easy

When you are down and out, in position, economically, or physically, people associate less with you. Sometimes they even speak badly about you. Even those who are just as bad could speak against you. I suppose it is human nature. Job describes this experience with great detail. He experiences such pain that he cries out to God. Job 30:28 I go about mourning, but not in the sun; I stand up in the assembly and cry out for help. I have heard many that are affected by people speaking behind their backs. Much of this should really be spoken directly with the concerned individual. This would help the offended discover the reason for the offenders actions or words that offended them. I have seen too many misunderstandings in my life. The best way to respond as the offended is to speak directly to the perceived offender. The person who feels that they may have offended somebody, can initiate the process. But, in many cases the offended choose to ignore this approach. It is then best to j...

Never forget

Are you forgetful? I am. Now, don't blame age. We are too quick to use that lame excuse. Sometimes, it is just contributed by our carelessness or sense of what is important. We leave things out because of priorities. If you forget your wedding anniversary or family birthdays, it is best you check your priorities. The people of Israel had the same problem. Jeremiah 18:14, Will a man leave the snow water of Lebanon, Which comes from the rock of the field? Will the cold flowing waters be forsaken for strange waters? They forgot. How could they forget? The God that blessed them in the days of their forefathers starting with Abraham, through their days in Egypt, the kings to the present. They received so much but see what they have done. Jeremiah 18:15, Because My people have forgotten Me, they have burned incense to worthless idols. And they have caused themselves to stumble in their ways, from the ancient paths, to walk in pathways and not on a highway, Where are you my friend? Wh...
