Destroyed in one hour

There is some rich history in many cities. Some of them were great and powerful. They were the beginnings of a nation. However, some were destroyed by natural calamities and never rebuilt. This chapter seems to be talking about such a city.

Revelation 18:8, Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.

Is it possible in today's circumstance? Most definitely! All you need is a major earthquake, volcanic eruption, extreme weather or a meteor crash. All things that would be called acts of God, humanly speaking. Or, maybe a nuclear bomb.

We have a situation where this city is very prosperous and within one hour it is utterly destroyed. We all know that this is possible. Has it happened yet? Or, is it about to happen?

Revelation 18:19, They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’

Father, I pray all will read this and understand that God is interested in the affairs of man, and wants them to return to Him through Jesus Christ.

Heavenly courage and capability

Anybody reading this belongs to the military or was in the military? I commend you if you were. Whatever reason you were part of the military, it takes great courage to perform your role. "Being Ready" cannot wait

Ready for the end of the world? Ready for death? I am sure many reading this are indifferent to this question. You don't care. But if you care about what you eat each day. You care about who you meet. You care about your health. And perhaps, you even care about people, your community and/or the environment. There is a silver lining

The phrase "silver lining" is used when you want to emphasize the hopeful side of a situation that might seem gloomy on the surface. The origin of the phrase seems to be John Milton's 1634 poem "Comus," which includes the line, "Was I deceived? or did a sable cloud/Turn forth her silver lining on the night?" ( Source ). Time to return to an old and faithful relationship

Unfaithfulness or lack of loyalty is prevalent in our society today. But was it any different "back then"? This issue is a perennial one. From ancient times you see switching of loyalties and allegiances to suit the personal agenda of the person. Sometimes this could involve an entire nation. They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days. Hosea was again asked to do a prophetic illustration. He was to take on a harlot and demonstrate Israel's unfaithfulness. It was sad.
