When a new person is made king it is always a very grand affair and steeped in tradition and culture. Some of this comes from the religious connections the seat of the throne has. The Queen of England is connected to the Church of England, the Sultans of Malaysia are connected to the Muslim administration of each State, and the kings of Israel are connected to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
1 Kings 1:39, Then Zadok the priest took a horn of oil from the tabernacle and anointed Solomon. And they blew the horn, and all the people said, “Long live King Solomon!”
Solomon was picked to be king. Absalom tried to takeover from David but was killed in battle. Adonijah tried to do the same, and knew that claiming the throne wrongfully would mean death. Solomon had a great installation and the people rejoiced. As we know today, he had great renown amongst all peoples.
1 Kings 1:37, As the Lord has been with my lord the king, even so may He be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David.”
Today, we can all become sons of the kingdom. Joint heirs with the Father. Having that wonderful, intimate and blessed relationship with the Father. This is what brought me to Jesus Christ as a young man seeking out a better solution. I heard my friends speak about their faith, but no one could match the love of Jesus and the relationship I can have with God.
Father, thank you for the close relationship I have with you.
