I am sure you heard it said by many that they do not want to be a Christian because they know too many Christians. While this is a sad statement, it is also a cop out statement. It is an excuse to not not consider the gospel. Christians are not perfect. Even the great Solomon was not perfect.
1 Kings 11:4, For it was so, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the Lord his God, as was the heart of his father David.
Are you following God? He has had a plan for our salvation from the beginning of time. The good news of His salvation is for all peoples. Like Solomon, Christians can fail, but not God. The most important decision you can make is to follow Jesus and have an eternal relationship with God. Don't cop out.
The impact of Solomon's disobedience is that the kingdom was going to be broken into 2. They will face trouble of war with others as well. The lesson here is that we need to follow God. Not man.
Father, keep me faithful in my walk with you. Many men have fallen due to them falling into temptation. I will stay faithful to the God of my youth.
