We all have had difficulties confronting the issues of life. They may or may not be things that you had an influence over, but they stay with you. You suffer through them wondering when is it all going to end. I have been through such challenges myself. Everyone is against you. You know you are doing what is important for the nation, but yet many of your stakeholders are wanting to fulfill their own agenda. This kills the good that you are trying to do.
Micah 7:2-3
The faithful man has perished from the earth, And there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; Every man hunts his brother with a net. That they may successfully do evil with both hands— The prince asks for gifts, The judge seeks a bribe, And the great man utters his evil desire; So they scheme together.
Reading the first part of Micah 7 reminds me of the situation in my home country where many in leadership have succumbed to doing things that are not right. The prince asks for gifts. The judge seeks a bribe. The great man utters his evil desire. This is not unique to us, and it is nothing new since Micah speaks about it about 2,700 years ago. We just have to understand it, and commit it to the Lord in prayer.
Micah 7:7
Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me.
It is never to late to start praying. Prayer is God honoring, as it recognizes His lordship and allows us to reach for His supernatural solution for our issues. Eventually, God is a worker of miracles for whole nations and is merciful. Micah records this.
Father, have mercy on us O Lord. Hear the cry of my heart for the spiritual well being of the nations. Turn them back to you O God.
