Are you tired? Are things not working out the way they should, or that you expected? All the little things in life could add up to become a huge thing in your life. Without you realizing, it caused you to be depressed to the point of being suicidal. There was one such prophet that came to this point. Yes, you guessed it right. Jonah!
Jonah 4:1-3
But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry. So he prayed to the LORD, and said, “Ah, LORD, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm. Therefore now, O LORD, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live!”
Jonah preached God and His workings to the people. The population was large by ancient standards, 120,000. About the size of Dunedin, New Zealand where our children went through High School.
Jonah 4:11
And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left—and much livestock?
Jonah touched the lives of these people within 40 days. What a testimony of an impossible task being made possible with God's intervention. This story reminds us that only God can do it and we need to take our eyes off "our minors" and focus on the "God's majors", which is the lost souls going to hell.
Major on the majors and the worries and cares of the world will not affect me.
Father, help me stay course.
