A great picture awaits in the mess

Malaysia just went through a transition of power back to the longest serving Prime Minister. Given the politics in the country, it is difficult to talk about the change in power based on political parties or idealogies. It can be quite confusing. Judah was no different. It was a mess. First the breaking into two kingdoms and their worship of foreign gods. They were between two superpowers. Egypt and Babylon. In the end Babylon won, and Egypt stayed out of the conflict.

2 Kings 24:14, Also he carried into captivity all Jerusalem: all the captains and all the mighty men of valor, ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths. None remained except the poorest people of the land.

The politics of the region continues to be complicated today. In ancient times, if you lived during those days, you would have said Israel and Judah is gone and there is no hope of revival. But in God's wisdom, He preserved a remnant that the Babylonian empire and the Medes protected. This is an amazing story of God's faithfulness to the original vision of the stars He gave Abraham.

2 Kings 24:16, All the valiant men, seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths, one thousand, all who were strong and fit for war, these the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

God is not done with this people, and neither is He with us. Father, Thank you for your faithfulness to me. I cherish this so greatly. You have plans to prosper me and not to harm me.

Heavenly courage and capability

Anybody reading this belongs to the military or was in the military? I commend you if you were. Whatever reason you were part of the military, it takes great courage to perform your role. Keep to the Original

When you buy things, a branded piece of garment mostly gives you an assurance that it meets a certain set standard of quality. It allows you to decide whether paying a certain price is worth the money. A cheap brand attracts a low value, while an expensive one probably has the design and other qualities that are worth paying for. I have my favorite brands not because I am brand conscious, but because I want to be assured of the value experience. I sometimes try new brands, but as a test. However, I am wary of "copycats". Time to return to an old and faithful relationship

Unfaithfulness or lack of loyalty is prevalent in our society today. But was it any different "back then"? This issue is a perennial one. From ancient times you see switching of loyalties and allegiances to suit the personal agenda of the person. Sometimes this could involve an entire nation. The kings, peoples and nation of Israel were no different. But there is hope. Hosea 3:5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days. Hosea was again asked to do a prophetic illustration. He was to take on a harlot and demonstrate Israel's unfaithfulness. It was sad. "Being Ready" cannot wait

Ready for the end of the world? Ready for death? I am sure many reading this are indifferent to this question. You don't care. But if you care about what you eat each day. You care about who you meet. You care about your health. And perhaps, you even care about people, your community and/or the environment. Then, you are avoiding the question about being ready for the most important event of your life, because you don't know the answer. John writes about this in Revelations. Be unconventional; it is okay!

In every society and organization there are cultural norms. There are practices that are observed and are deemed normal. Anything else would be unacceptable and may cause the person committing this to be taken out. In a religious context many of these may have no relevance to the practice of the faith. They are just ways to deal with all other aspects of life together. In this regard, Jesus was fairly unconventional.
