Do you believe in miracles? We always look for the supernatural. We pursue this in stories we listen to, and places and people we visit. We are a curious lot. Human beings I mean. We are always amazed at these things, and rightly so. But in God's economy and design these are natural.
2 Kings 19:19, Now therefore, O Lord our God, I pray, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord God, You alone.
King Hezekiah was at wits end when challenged by the King of Assyria. He tore his clothes and cried out to the God of Isaiah.
2 Kings 19:4, It may be that the Lord your God will hear all the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to reproach the living God, and will rebuke the words which the Lord your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’ ”
Hezekiah does not refer to God as his God. But later this changed and he prays directly to God and Isaiah mentions that the deliverance is coming because he prayed directly to God.
2 Kings 19:20, Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Because you have prayed to Me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard.’
God wants us to go to him direct. We have a direct channel. No need for intermediaries. There is power in your personal prayer. Father, let me never forget how you always listen to your children's prayer, no matter how big or small, simple or complex, and long and short.
