Are you dreaming big today? Martin Luther, the great black preacher and equality activist made some great proclamations. He dreamt of a day when we will not be judged by the color of our skin but by the content of our character. I strongly believe that dreams declared and/or symbolically stated have the power of becoming reality when it is done by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jehoash realized this when the people of Israel beat back the Syrians 3 times.
2 Kings 13:25, And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz recaptured from the hand of Ben-Hadad, the son of Hazael, the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times Joash defeated him and recaptured the cities of Israel.
Joash could have defeated the Syrians more times but he only struck the ground three times.
2 Kings 13:18, Then he said, “Take the arrows”; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; so he struck three times, and stopped.
Sometimes we stop dreaming bigger than we ought to. God wants us to dream bigger, and see how He is going to bring it to pass. Let's be ready to stand back and be astonished at the work of God.
Habakkuk 1:5
The Lord’s Reply
“Look among the nations and watch—
Be utterly astounded!
For I will work a work in your days
Which you would not believe, though it were told you.
Father, let me not have Sreedhar - sized dreams. Let it be God - sized ones.
