When do you know what you are doing is right? Most times it is based on our desired outcome. If the what we are doing delivers the desired outcome, we will continue in that way. We may not realize that we are missing a better outcome. God has a better outcome for each of lives, but if we choose to follow our own ways then we will be shortchanging ourselves.
Judges 17:6, In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
This chapter gives the story of Micah and how he stole money from his mother who cursed the person stealing it. He went on to return it and the mother blessed him and made a shrine that he maintained. He consecrated his son to be the priest, and later consecrated a Levite to do the same. He was very proud of this, failing to realize how much he has drifted from God and His greater blessings.
Judges 17:13, Then Micah said, “Now I know that the Lord will be good to me, since I have a Levite as priest!”
What are you seeking? Don't shortchange yourself. God has a greater blessing for you. Father, I thank you for speaking into my life and for the many blessings you have poured into my life.
