I am currently in the book of Judges and the more I read it the more I see parallels between the present day judges and those in ancient times. They are human. They are imperfect. They can be making unwise personal decisions. One of these is described here.
Judges 12:8-7, After him, Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel. He had thirty sons. And he gave away thirty daughters in marriage, and brought in thirty daughters from elsewhere for his sons. He judged Israel seven years.
It is evident that he had more than one wife. His children married foreign persons. His tenure was a short 7 years and nothing significant was recorded about him. These were dark years for the people of Israel. We are in a similar situation today. Without the supremacy of God in everyday life, everyone will do what is right in their own eyes.
Father, raise up leaders that would be after your own heart.
