Being smart and having great skill can have its drawbacks, if you have poor character. Greed, impatience and intolerance can get in the way. This happened to Samson.
Judges 14:6, And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he had nothing in his hand. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done.
He was strong and skilled. He used that to his advantage. He threw a riddle challenge that would have earned him some new clothes but he fell for his wife's request and ended up killing 30 men to pay for the wager he lost. He also kicked his wife out. This is looking like a "great start" for a man chosen by God from the womb. Samson's humaness showed up and it would be interesting how this develops for God's purposes for the people of Israel.
Father, I am imperfect and I need you to keep me right with you.
