All artists visualize what the final product is going to be before they start. They have their perspectives, the strokes, the colors and the condition of the piece. They start with a blank canvas and the painting comes to be. They continue to detail the work until it gets close to the visualization that they originally had. The greatest artists in the world have a view that is so unique that their final piece is worth a great prize. It is rare and shows something of the heart and mind of the artist. God is like that and He has had a view of the kingdom before creation.
Luke 13:18-21
Then He said, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.” And again He said, “To what shall I liken the kingdom of God? It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.”
Jesus says the kingdom is like a mustard seed or leaven. Small but so much potential in it to stir something from almost nothing, like an artist visualizing an art piece. God is the Master Artist and the kingdom is His art piece. How are you going to appreciate His art piece? By being in His mind (or same mind) and seeing what He is seeing. Then the experience of the highest value comes forth. Otherwise, as Jesus recounted in this chapter, they would place no value in you and kill you as they did the many prophets in Jerusalem. Such was the imminent situation for Jesus and He knew it was coming.
Father, I want to have your view, your mind seeing the kingdom. Let me partake of it and move in alignment with you. And most importantly see Your work of art in all peoples.
