Pray and do not lose heart

I have been publicly journaling online my journey through the bible chapter by chapter since 2016. Prior to this I have been writing in physical journals for more than 7 years reflecting on different portions of the bible. The two big benefits of this has been the deepening of my understanding of the Holy Scriptures, and time to allow God to speak to me each day. Are you feeling lonely? Do you have peace in your heart? Do you know God's love?

I have had many opportunities to share my testimony and witness to a friend, relative or a person I just met. Yes, these persons are lost without Christ. My prayer is that they would not be lost but have a relationship with their Heavenly Father. Jesus is presented in this chapter sharing 2 parables and advising a rich man how he can be saved. But the chapter starts with this important verse.

Luke 18:1

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.

Earlier in this book (written by Luke a medical doctor), it is recorded in chapter 11 that the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. He shared with them what is commonly referred to as the Lord's prayer. I urge you to read this complete chapter and recite the Lord's prayer by clicking this link. As you do that, yes you will be saved and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you prayed the prayer for the first time, please feel free to email me for help in your walk with Jesus. For those familiar with the Lord's prayer you should consider using it for persons that are seeking God and want to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.

In this chapter, Jesus yet again predicts His death and resurrection. You should have no doubt in your mind that Jesus died on the cross for you and demonstrated that He is God when He overcame death with His resurrection.

Father, thank you for your love and the assurance of salvation.

Seek a good personal testimony

In the same way you can have professional wedding planners, you also have funeral planners. I know some of you who are superstitious will be saying "touch wood". I have written something on this before and you can read it here. Have you planned your funeral? I have not and neither did Abraham plan his wife's funeral until her death. Don't get me wrong. Rags to riches need something else

Can the impossible become possible? I have read many stories of rags to riches and have been naturally impressed by everything that has been said. It required great persistence, hardwork, endurance and something else. That something else is what differentiates between one rags to riches story, and the many other rags to rags stories. He has plans to prosper you

Over 30 years ago I was contemplating my plans for the future while helping a dear Brother in the Lord do some minor repairs around the house. Nothing serious was moving in my applications for jobs in Canada or the US. At a Monday night College and Career Bible Study at Stone Church , Toronto, I got my direction through this passage and some other information God placed there that night. And so within a week I bought my one way ticket to Malaysia. That was a significant move for me as a 23 year old. You will look good

In today's world many are not happy with how they look naturally. They do everything possible to get it "right". Some of these include almost permanent changes that affects their bodies for the rest of their lives. This includes tattoos. I am not going to saying anything about this but we need to be careful about the agenda of people that do these things. There is something better. Revelation 22:4, They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. How God's name is going to be on our foreheads, I am not sure. But it would be like wearing a uniform of an organization that you are very proud of, and want to be associated with publicly. There will also be the tree of life. There will be no more pain. You are powerless

Years ago I watched a movie that played out the end times based on Revelations. It was quite dramatic and scary, but had a happy ending. This is what has been planned from the beginning of time. This chapter in Revelations gives a quick snapshot of the end. Revelation 20:4, And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. It did not occur to me until much later in my Christian life that there will be a thousand years when followers of Christ will reign on earth.
