Recently I shared about the need to wait and not rush into grabbing an opportunity. In the same way, we may be rushing to make a decision and possibly a wrong one. I like the traditional way the Japanese make decisions. It is always collective. It takes a long time but the whole group comes to an agreed decision. With God He is looking for us to seek His counsel.
Joshua 9:14, Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions; but they did not ask counsel of the Lord.
Joshua did not seek God's counsel before he made a covenant with the Gibeonites. They only lived 3 days away and were to be defeated off their land. But, they became servants. It was a compromise but a bad decision stayed. They could have at least waited 3 days to find out where they lived, but they did not.
Father, help me to always wait on you for decisions.
