Are you a believer? There are many things told to you and many would be considered unbelievable. They could be exaggerated, or totally false. How do you verify such things? Having worked with many news teams as part of my work, this is so critical. Don't simply share or "like" everything you see. Otherwise, you are just a low class rumor monger. But the spies sent out by Joshua got first hand news.
Joshua 2:11, And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.
This statement by Rahab, a citizen of Jericho, shows that the people across the Jordan were scared of the people of Israel, and that Rahab became a believer of God. Her entire household, including her father, were going to be saved because of her faith. What a beautiful story of faith symbolized by the scarlet cord. It was red. This reminds me of Chinese New Year.
The Chinese New Year celebrations have started, and red is the color. The significance of red and how red cloth is hung on the doors of homes reminds me of Rahab. I believe the early Chinese received the message of salvation and they believed. Happy Chinese New Year! Do you believe?
Father, you have spoken through the ages. Help me to remind everyone of their heritage and the significance of this for a relationship with You.
