I love formulating strategies and implementing them. When in business school we had a live practice doing this with a chemical company in Toronto. When we had finished our presentation the professors made a note that we did not consider the threat of additional legislation for hazardous materials. It was important enough to move our grade to an A- from an A+. But whatever the threats, Joshua was moving with God's strategy into victory.
Joshua 6:20, So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
The men of war were called together with the 7 Levites who blew the trumpet, and the Ark of the Lord carried by other Levites. They only blew their trumpets for 6 days and walked around the walls of Jericho once each day in silence. On the 7th day they walked around 7 times, and on the 7th round they blew their trumpets and gave a great shout on Joshua's instruction. The wall came down and the people of Israel went in and defeated the people of Jericho.
How did the walls Jericho tumble with the shout? For 6 days the men walked around not doing anything. If I were the people of Jericho, I would be curious to know what strategy this was. We know that God did it. Joshua had to get on God's side and see God deliver Jericho into their hands. The biggest component of the strategy for the defeat of Jericho came from God.
Father, help me receive your strategy and follow it well.
