The river that gives life should be the title of the reflection today. If you review the history of ancient civilizations, you will always find that they thrived where there was good access to water. Without water everything died. Famines are generally the caused by lack of water. When it does not rain it is cause for great concern and today the Governments of the world move people or invest greatly in moving water to population centers. The Bible also refers to water a lot and here there is a reference to the river of life.
Ezekiel 47:12
Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.
The blessings of this river that starts as a small channel of water running east from the front of the temple is tremendous. The part that jumped at me most was that it will bring life to the water and fish will be plentiful. Is this the dead sea that we talking about? It appears to be so because it is the only body of water east of Jerusalem.
These are tremendous proclamations of the Lord. We can see how it is going to impact the region. The land that Israel is to divide up is based on ancient boundaries and all the tribes will receive back their portion. This includes the strangers that dwell in the land. When Lord? 1948 event for the formation of Israel was a milestone in prophecy being fulfilled. Now all tribes returning would be another great milestone.
I am looking forward to seeing this and anticipating the Lord's return, but there is still work to be done. Father, I need Your wisdom and strength.
