Have you made a mistake before? Don't answer! Perhaps in the privacy of your reading and under your breadth, you are saying yes. But when in the middle of the issue or predicament it is (or was) hard to say yes. I have made many mistakes in my lifetime. What do I do with the mistakes? My intention is to always learn from them and do things differently the next time. However, I have failed many times. Paul is writing to the Corinthians who had a major issue in the church.
A church is made up of humans who are sinners saved by grace. They are being sanctified by the power of the Holy Spirit. In the meantime, they make mistakes. Therefore, there is a need for us to seek the Lord's work in each of our lives.
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Some of you reading this may be saying, "the reason I am not a Christian is because I know too many Christians". I don't blame you, but do you know Jesus Christ? If the church was perfect, we do not need God. The church is a collection of individuals seeking God's salvation through His grace and mercy. The transformation starts here on earth, but not made complete until the day of resurrection.
For indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears.
Praise God for the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit to help us. Otherwise, we will struggle with our own strength. It is only through a repentant heart that God can work.
For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
Ready to meet Jesus? He is the source of my strength, peace and joy. Father, I cry out to you to touch those reading this journal entry.
