Are you talking to a brick wall? There are many situations you try to talk to somebody about an important matter but they don't seem to get it. I remember once trying to buy a house and we connected with a real estate agent to do this. We mentioned what our budget was and that we were not interested in schools or school districts as our children were homeschooled. In the first home visits he took us to all the homes that were above our budget and in good school districts. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and reiterated our expectations. In the second round he still kept taking us to the wrong homes. Paul had a similar experience with the church in Corinth.
Paul explained that he did not need to boast about his experience with the Lord to gain credibility with them. He just wanted the best for them. He had realized that as a minister of the gospel he is made strong through his weakness.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, not in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
He takes pleasure in serving the needs of the church and does not want to see this church go wayward in their walk with the Lord. It is so easy for a body of believers to go wayward. It only takes a few to accommodate sin in the church to spoil the ministry. With time they stop listening and do what is right in their own eyes. Does this diminish the power of God or the Gospel? Not at all. Our relationship is with Jesus Christ. Man may fail but God never!
Let's hear each other for the good of us all. Let's not be the brick walls that block out anything that does not sound nice. We need to walk God's ways. We need to know when we are doing wrong. In our weakness we shall be made strong.
Father, I am weak but you are strong. I hang on to your promises.
