Keep being admired by not stopping the good

Do you secret admirers? They are watching you in the corner of their eyes. Or perhaps they are talking about you in a good way "behind your back". They could be talking about your good looks. Or perhaps better still, your good character. That is priceless. I have mentioned before that character determines success echoing the phrase or tagline from the program CharacterFirst! that I used to be trainer with. The character of a person is what influences him/her to do what is right even when no one is looking. However, the challenge is for secret admirers to emulate your good qualities or model.

Jeremiah 37:16-17

When Jeremiah entered the dungeon and the cells, and Jeremiah had remained there many days, then Zedekiah the king sent and took him out. The king asked him secretly in his house, and said, “Is there any word from the Lord?”

Being a prophet is a hard life. Beaten. Jailed. Badly maligned and character assassinated. Though you have a proven track record, i.e. things you foretold in the past came to pass, people still second guess and choose to believe that which is favorable to them. Jeremiah found himself in this situation. Still the king secretly went to ask Jeremiah for continued prophecy. Quite cheeky indeed.

I would say this in another way. People hate "the faith" but admire "your faith walk". They like what they see but cannot come to terms with the fact that "your faith walk" is because of God's abiding presence in your life. My encouragement is don't stop sharing. Do as what Jeremiah. He did not stop.

Father, let me not stop sharing or modeling life in Jesus.

Heavenly courage and capability

Anybody reading this belongs to the military or was in the military? I commend you if you were. Whatever reason you were part of the military, it takes great courage to perform your role. "Being Ready" cannot wait

Ready for the end of the world? Ready for death? I am sure many reading this are indifferent to this question. You don't care. But if you care about what you eat each day. You care about who you meet. You care about your health. And perhaps, you even care about people, your community and/or the environment. Then, you are avoiding the question about being ready for the most important event of your life, because you don't know the answer. John writes about this in Revelations. Are you ready for miracles? Are there things going on in your life that can only be changed or improved by a miracle? We sometimes come to the end of ourselves and do not know where to turn. Time to return to an old and faithful relationship

Unfaithfulness or lack of loyalty is prevalent in our society today. But was it any different "back then"? This issue is a perennial one. There is a silver lining

The phrase "silver lining" is used when you want to emphasize the hopeful side of a situation that might seem gloomy on the surface. The origin of the phrase seems to be John Milton's 1634 poem "Comus," which includes the line, "Was I deceived? or did a sable cloud/Turn forth her silver lining on the night?" ( Source ).
