I have been to Rome once and it is a beautiful city, if you appreciate history, architecture and, of course, food. Paul finally made it to Rome after being shipwrecked on Malta. This final chapter of Acts is a remarkable story of God's guidance and providence.
However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.
Paul was bitten by a snake and he did not die. He ministered to the people of Malta. He preached and demonstrated the kingdom there with the many healings there. As he traveled in a new ship to Rome, he was given a lot of liberty because of the favor from the authorities. There were already followers of Jesus in Italy at that time. The Jews came to hear him and many believed. From here Paul wrote a number of letters that we know as the prison epistles.
Father, I pray that I can follow well Paul's example to preach and demonstrate the kingdom. So that many will hear, see and believe, as I have.
