I found the best

Who are your advisers? Who do you rely on for wise counsel? Most times we turn to those closest to us, or we "self-process". This could be wise, but we may be losing out on the best counsel.

Proverbs 2:1-2

My son, if you receive my words,

And treasure my commands within you,

So that you incline your ear to wisdom,

And apply your heart to understanding;

This chapter says to avoid wicked men and the wayward women. Both will lead you away from God and His blessings promised. This is the main thrust of the message in this chapter. We are so taken in by good words and good looks. Be careful. The chapter starts by talking about wisdom and knowledge from the Lord. Verse 8 says, "He guards the path of justice, and preserves the way of His saints". Beautiful promises from God and there is more in the chapter. The conclusion of the matter is that we cannot and should not yield ourselves to the wicked or the wayward woman.

Life is full of choices. Daily we make choices to do various things. Some can be life changing, without us knowing it. We are inept in knowing which are life changing, or even which could be world changing or transformational. And so, we need to cry out for discernment (v3) and listen to God's voice for understanding.

The more I hear these things the more I am amazed at what our relationship with God would yield. There is nothing better, and it needs to be shared with those that do not know Him. Those that do not know Jesus. Father, bring me a soul today to share Your good news.

Heavenly courage and capability

Anybody reading this belongs to the military or was in the military? I commend you if you were. Whatever reason you were part of the military, it takes great courage to perform your role. "Being Ready" cannot wait

Ready for the end of the world? Ready for death? I am sure many reading this are indifferent to this question. You don't care. But if you care about what you eat each day. You care about who you meet. You care about your health. And perhaps, you even care about people, your community and/or the environment. Then, you are avoiding the question about being ready for the most important event of your life, because you don't know the answer. John writes about this in Revelations. No fear, a miracle is coming

Are you ready for miracles? Are there things going on in your life that can only be changed or improved by a miracle? We sometimes come to the end of ourselves and do not know where to turn. There is a silver lining

The phrase "silver lining" is used when you want to emphasize the hopeful side of a situation that might seem gloomy on the surface. Unfaithfulness or lack of loyalty is prevalent in our society today. But was it any different "back then"? This issue is a perennial one. From ancient times you see switching of loyalties and allegiances to suit the personal agenda of the person. Sometimes this could involve an entire nation. The kings, peoples and nation of Israel were no different. But there is hope. Hosea 3:5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days. Hosea was again asked to do a prophetic illustration. He was to take on a harlot and demonstrate Israel's unfaithfulness. It was sad.
