The hospitality industry is all about service and upkeep. I remember reviewing the operations of a small hotel in Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia. There was no service. The upkeep was questionable. No wonder they were losing business. Eventually they will get desperate and open for short hourly stays for illicit business. The situation was very different in Jerusalem during Solomon's days.
2 Chronicles 9:3-4, And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers and their apparel, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her.
Solomon attracted large trading partners and became very wealthy. He used the great wealth to showcase Jerusalem to the world. Its stature was world class. Hospitality was top grade. Excellence was normal. Everything was looked into with great thorough. Nothing left to chance. Solomon left a legacy in this area. Are we ready for excellence in all that we do? You would agree that excellence comes with great effort. I believe Solomon got godly wisdom for this.
Father, please let me understand what I need to do to be excellent in my service for you.
