Be driven by the right culture

We seem to be caught up with things that are not Godly on a daily basis. Our goal is to either look good in front of people or to make best use of our time on earth and indulge in self gratifying activities. Both destroy a person and God knows that. God's instruction to us is clear and Paul reminds Titus of this.

Titus 2:11-14

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Rely on His grace that brings salvation or deliverance. We have a human tendency towards that which seems to destroy us. We need to break away and live under the grace of God that gives us the peace of mind. We could be seen by many to be doing something counter culture.  But is their "culture" correct in God's eyes?  Is God meaning for us to destroy His creation, starting with ourselves?  Many think nothing of open drunkenness (though there are laws against certain behavior), sex outside marriage, abortion, and the like.  When we operate in "God's culture" we fear nothing and we know God is in control.

We need to stay the course and look to God, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Father, direct my every step. Let me listen to you most intently. I need you to give me the best state of mind and direction.
