The young can lead and we must walk right beside them

How old must you be before you become the CEO of a company? 60? There is a general perception that youth cannot lead and should be encouraged to "process" in lower level positions for long periods before they come up to management. This logic is probably true for most cases, except for cases where the youth has the anointing of God on their lives. Paul refers to one such person here.

2 Timothy 1:6-7
Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Paul's admonishment to Timothy is that he continues to lead without fear without allowing anyone to look down on his age. Our young people are capable of much. They go through a physical and emotional change at puberty which makes them ready for adulthood. This is a God given process that cannot be ignored. One important instruction that Paul gives is that he continues to hear from Paul for good advice.

2 Timothy 1:13-14
Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

We must therefore honor our young people and be responsible stewards of the children under our supervision to see that God's purposes are fulfilled in their lives from that early age. The young can, and must be allowed to lead. BUT, we MUST walk right beside them, as Paul did with Timothy.

Father, help me understand how to do this better. Our children are capable of more.

Heavenly courage and capability

Anybody reading this belongs to the military or was in the military? I commend you if you were. Whatever reason you were part of the military, it takes great courage to perform your role. "Being Ready" cannot wait

Ready for the end of the world? Ready for death? I am sure many reading this are indifferent to this question. You don't care. But if you care about what you eat each day. You care about who you meet. You care about your health. And perhaps, you even care about people, your community and/or the environment. Be unconventional; it is okay!

In every society and organization there are cultural norms. There are practices that are observed and are deemed normal. Anything else would be unacceptable and may cause the person committing this to be taken out. In a religious context many of these may have no relevance to the practice of the faith. Time to return to an old and faithful relationship

Unfaithfulness or lack of loyalty is prevalent in our society today. But was it any different "back then"? This issue is a perennial one. There is a silver lining

The phrase "silver lining" is used when you want to emphasize the hopeful side of a situation that might seem gloomy on the surface.
