Trouble can sometimes come from within. We need to recognize that much of this stems from our fallen human nature. We are drawn to the influences of Satan. Even Peter who proclaimed that Jesus was the Christ, was implied to have had Satan influence his thinking as Jesus was facing his death in the cross. Jesus said, Get thee behind me Satan.
Psalms 56:4
In God (I will praise His word),
In God I have put my trust;
I will not fear.
What can flesh do to me?
The Psalmist is clear. In this chapter much is said about the attacks of the people around us. But we need to sing this Psalm. It is said again slightly differently in verse 11. We cannot fear the statements of man. He is right. What can man do to you? We need to put our trust in God.
Father, I will not fear what man may do to me. Instead, I will trust in you.
