I may have said it before. In God's economy there is no retirement. You may move to a new season of your life where you do new things, but there is no retirement. The Levites were called by God to serve in the tabernacle. But they had an age bracket within which to serve.
Numbers 8:24-26, “This is what pertains to the Levites: From twenty-five years old and above one may enter to perform service in the work of the tabernacle of meeting; and at the age of fifty years they must cease performing this work, and shall work no more. They may minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of meeting, to attend to needs, but they themselves shall do no work. Thus you shall do to the Levites regarding their duties.”
So what do you after 50? You cannot remain serving in this high profile role. You move on. The scripture says to minister in the tabernacle of meeting and attend to needs. I am not suggesting that anyone gives up their place at 50, but we need to be mindful that nothing is permanent and God may be calling you to something else of significance. Ministering by attending to needs continues to be significant in God's eyes.
Father, thank you for the current phase of ministry that you have brought me to. I pray that you would accord me the wisdom and strength to do it well.
