Perfect laws needed

There are certain countries where they apply very strict consequences when a person steals something. To the point of cutting off limbs. These consequences are usually done in public to ensure others do not commit the same infringements. I am glad I don't live in such a country. I could be mistakenly judged and suffer these penalties.

The Lord however has a different approach to dealing with stealing. In fact there is so much mercy and grace in how He wants us to deal with everyone.

Exodus 22:21, “You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Jesus said not only to love your neighbors as yourself, but to love your enemies. Are we able to do this? It can only happen with the power of the Holy Spirit and the mercy of God in our hearts.

We are not timid, but we are meek. The world chooses to reject God but we will continue to acknowledge Him who has given the values and principles that prospered the developed world. His laws and directions in this chapter are perfect. They present the real heart of God.

Father, may those who live in lands with laws that are inhuman and godless understand your good and perfect plans.

Heavenly courage and capability

Anybody reading this belongs to the military or was in the military? I commend you if you were. Whatever reason you were part of the military, it takes great courage to perform your role. "Being Ready" cannot wait

Ready for the end of the world? Ready for death? I am sure many reading this are indifferent to this question. You don't care. But if you care about what you eat each day. You care about who you meet. You care about your health. And perhaps, you even care about people, your community and/or the environment. There is a silver lining

The phrase "silver lining" is used when you want to emphasize the hopeful side of a situation that might seem gloomy on the surface. The origin of the phrase seems to be John Milton's 1634 poem "Comus," which includes the line, "Was I deceived? or did a sable cloud/Turn forth her silver lining on the night?" ( Source ). Be unconventional; it is okay!

In every society and organization there are cultural norms. There are practices that are observed and are deemed normal. Anything else would be unacceptable and may cause the person committing this to be taken out. In a religious context many of these may have no relevance to the practice of the faith. Time to return to an old and faithful relationship

Unfaithfulness or lack of loyalty is prevalent in our society today. But was it any different "back then"? This issue is a perennial one. From ancient times you see switching of loyalties and allegiances to suit the personal agenda of the person. Sometimes this could involve an entire nation. The kings, peoples and nation of Israel were no different. But there is hope. Hosea 3:5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days. Hosea was again asked to do a prophetic illustration. He was to take on a harlot and demonstrate Israel's unfaithfulness. It was sad.
