A friend of mine recently discovered that the customer that he has been dealing with for the last 10 years is a billionaire and world famous. His biggest asset is a satellite TV network. Sometimes we could be spending time with some significant individuals without realizing it. This is what happened to Abimelech.
Genesis 20:9, And Abimelech called Abraham and said to him, “What have you done to us? How have I offended you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done.”
When Abraham entered a new country he mentions that Sarah is his sister, as he did in Egypt. Sarah is then taken by Abimelech to be one of his wives and later realizes in a dream that there is more to Abraham than can be seen or heard. Abraham is called a prophet and was called on to pray for deliverance of this king.
Like Abraham, we have a holy calling. We walk with authority to speak with God and see Satan defeated. Our fight is not physical, but spiritual. Like Abraham, we will face new and possibly dangerous situations. We make human decisions to mitigate the situation, but God has a better plan. He sets up a dream and causes the king to give huge presents. There is more to us than can be seen or heard.
Father, I am ready for anything. Help me to trust you in every situation.
