Have you ever had to present something and only told half the story? Or, you watched a movie and part way through you felt you already know the full story but the rest of the movie reveals some new twists that you would never have imagined. That is what happened to Adam and Eve.
Genesis 3:1, Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
Genesis 3:6, So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Sin entered the world through this half truth coming from the serpent that was cursed to crawl on its belly after this terrible deception. We accept many things around us without the complete truth. We make investment choices without considering all risks. We are blinded by the immediate returns. The same applies to many who are only concerned about their life on earth. Eternity is waiting my friend.
Only Jesus has the definitive answer for eternity. This event in the garden of Eden is the very reason God had to come down to redeem us.
Father, let me always get the full story. Never let me be fooled by half truths.
