Good employee

Recently I spoke about being a good boss. Today, let's talk about a good employee. A good boss coupled with a good employee would contribute significantly to the success of any organization. A good organization is one that has good processes, run with good technologies (including proprietary methods) and operated by good people. The good people are obviously made up of good bosses and employees. Paul already spoke this in Ephesians 6.

We are to serve our bosses as unto the Lord. Where God has placed us we are to serve in a way that brings glory to God. Here Paul speaks of the people of Philippians serving God well without Paul coming to visit them.

Philippians 1:27
Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.

This is something Paul prayed for and I need to learn to pray in like manner for everyone, starting with my own family. So that I can be confident as Paul says in this chapter.

Philippians 1:6, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

It is amazing that while Paul shares these messages, he is prison. He looks forward to being with the Lord but at the same time he wants to see Christ preached. We have similar situations around the world where followers of Jesus Christ are being imprisoned for their faith. Many are praying the same prayers as Paul. May their imprisonment speak strongly for the gospel of Jesus Christ to the whole world.

Father, let me be bold with your gospel. I am ultimately your bondservant, to be used as you desire.

There are so many conflicts in the world today that it is very difficult to keep up. The other day I shared about the problems in Venezuela. And then there are more bombings aimed at Israel. And yet again, notwithstanding that some of you reading this may feel it unfair, Israel is preserved. Psalm 69:35-36, For God will save Zion And build the cities of Judah, That they may dwell there and possess it. Also, the descendants of His servants shall inherit it, And those who love His name shall dwell in it. There is a promise, and only God knows how it will be fulfilled. The impossible becomes possible because God is in charge. The trajectory for His Word to go forth to all peoples is set. Much evil is trying to prevent this. Heavenly courage and capability

Anybody reading this belongs to the military or was in the military? I commend you if you were. Whatever reason you were part of the military, it takes great courage to perform your role. A promise that demonstrates great interest and care in our well being

We commonly call someone who has helped us significantly with something or a good person, "You are an Angel". I am reminded of the angels God sends to be around us for our protection and to carry out God's instructions for our well-being. Many of us may wish that our eyes would be opened to see the angels of God around us. Zechariah speaks of seeing angels over Jerusalem. Indeed Jerusalem has a special place in God's heart.
