Walk with confidence to life

Every court of law seeks the truth so that the right judgement can be made. I once met a public defender and he explained to me what he does. Basically, he defends those who cannot afford a lawyer. He does not do anything other than get the facts as presented by the defendant, including witnesses, and presents a defense against the charges made against his client. He also advises the client if his or her defense is poor and the consequences of losing the case. The chapter today almost sounds like a trial as everyone around Jesus seek the truth.

John 8:31-32
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Jesus was obviously speaking way above the ability of the Jewish leaders to understand. The only way they can accept Him is to make shifts in their preconceived minds and view Jesus as being from God. The discourse between Jesus and the Jewish leaders is very interesting and worth multiple readings.  Josh McDowell in his book, "More than a Carpenter" recounts how he stepped out to prove that Jesus was either a liar, a lunatic, or He was truly who He claimed to be. At the end, Josh had to come to the conclusion that Jesus was who He claimed to be.

Are you seeking the truth? Look no further for the meaning of life and come to the author of your life. He has the perfect plan for you.

Father, thank you for revealing the truth. Now I can walk with confidence through life.
