Excerpt from Wikipedia: Nobel Prizes have been awarded to over 870 individuals, of whom 185 - over 21.264% - were Jewish or people of Jewish descent, although Jews and people of Jewish descent comprise less than 0.2% of the world's population (or 1 in every 500 people). Overall, Jews or people of Jewish descent have won a total of 41% of all the Nobel Prizes in economics, 28% of medicine, 26% of physics, 19% of chemistry, 13% of literature and 9% of all peace awards. This is a fulfillment of a number of prophecies in the Old Testament and one of them is in Zephaniah chapter 3.
Zephaniah 3:19-20
Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you; I will save the lame, and gather those who were driven out; I will appoint them for praise and fame In every land where they were put to shame. At that time I will bring you back, even at the time I gather you; For I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I return your captives before your eyes, Says the LORD.
It does not stop here. There are other types of accolades that indicate that the Jews are blessed so greatly. Zephaniah talks about the remnant being blessed, in spite of the judgement on Israel for their wrongdoings, and this reminds me that as we reconcile with God through His redemptive work on the cross we are blessed into an eternal relationship with God, with blessings of love, peace and hope. He is our protector, our provider and wisdom giver. We walk with Him into eternity as promised. Let me end with this familiar verse.
Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.
The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.
Father, thank you.
