Celebration time come on

Chinese New Year is coming soon. That means lots of celebration and cultural events and food. Did somebody say food? One of the foods made is a sticky cake that is served to the kitchen god. Why? Tradition has it that the god will come to the house and find this cake and eat it. It is so sticky that it's mouth will be stuck when it reports on the household in heaven. But of course God is not like that.

Psalms 11:7
For the Lord is righteous,
He loves righteousness;
His countenance beholds the upright.

There is nothing that escapes God. He sees everything we do every moment of our lives. He does not need to make a visit once a year. He does not get hungry and does not get tempted. He is a loving and just God. Nothing escapes Him and He will not accept things not right and evil. He sees those doing right. Thank you Lord for making me whole.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

No, the kitchen god is not coming. Jesus Christ is coming at one appointed time. And He cannot be tempted with sticky cake. I have my sins forgiven and Christ living in me. This Chinese New Year I will especially celebrate all that Jesus has done in my life.

Father, your word is a lamp onto my feet and a light onto my path. Lead me always in your ways of right living.

Heavenly courage and capability

Anybody reading this belongs to the military or was in the military? I commend you if you were. Whatever reason you were part of the military, it takes great courage to perform your role. Where does my help come from?

When things do not go the way you wish, you get frustrated, disappointed, or depressed. I urge you to not give up. The matter that is causing this is not worth processing in the mind or the heart. It is best to seek help. Help is best sought from family. This is God's design. But in today's world, this may not be an option for many. We need God. "Being Ready" cannot wait

Ready for the end of the world? Ready for death? I am sure many reading this are indifferent to this question. You don't care. But if you care about what you eat each day. You care about who you meet. You care about your health. And perhaps, you even care about people, your community and/or the environment. Then, you are avoiding the question about being ready for the most important event of your life, because you don't know the answer. John writes about this in Revelations. Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. The time is near! In the KJV it says, the time is at hand! The revelation given to John is difficult to completely appreciate because He is sharing God's perspective on time (from eternity to eternity). You will look good

In today's world many are not happy with how they look naturally. They do everything possible to get it "right". Some of these include almost permanent changes that affects their bodies for the rest of their lives. This includes tattoos. I am not going to saying anything about this but we need to be careful about the agenda of people that do these things. There is something better. Revelation 22:4, They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. How God's name is going to be on our foreheads, I am not sure. But it would be like wearing a uniform of an organization that you are very proud of, and want to be associated with publicly. There will also be the tree of life. There will be no more pain.
