The world was created

My family and I are traveling through some majestic mountains. If you ask most people, they will say this happened naturally over many million years. But I am glad I have a clearer answer. God had complete hand in it. Job reflects on God's great power and capability.

Job 26:12, He stirs up the sea with His power, And by His understanding He breaks up the storm.

Not only is God powerful, He has great knowledge and wisdom. He operates in a manner that still defies human wisdom. One of my sons asked me when was the trinity first mentioned in the Bible. I was reminded that it was right there in Genesis 1. Earlier that morning another son said his favorite verse is Genesis 1:1. If you go on in that chapter, you will read these verses.

Genesis 1:2, The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Genesis 1:26, Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Spirit of God, and let us! Can we understand how this can be pictured in our one God? Can a computer fully comprehend its programmer? It takes a God like this to create the world and love us. I would not have it any other way. Job was right.

Father, only you do I trust.

Heavenly courage and capability

Anybody reading this belongs to the military or was in the military? I commend you if you were. Whatever reason you were part of the military, it takes great courage to perform your role. If you are protecting the sovereignty of a country and you go beyond the call of service, your work is beyond anything money can pay. Such a person that acted in this manner was Abram. "Being Ready" cannot wait

Ready for the end of the world? Ready for death? I am sure many reading this are indifferent to this question. You don't care. But if you care about what you eat each day. You care about who you meet. You care about your health. And perhaps, you even care about people, your community and/or the environment. A promise that demonstrates great interest and care in our well being

We commonly call someone who has helped us significantly with something or a good person, "You are an Angel". I am reminded of the angels God sends to be around us for our protection and to carry out God's instructions for our well-being. Many of us may wish that our eyes would be opened to see the angels of God around us. Zechariah speaks of seeing angels over Jerusalem. Indeed Jerusalem has a special place in God's heart.
