We have the Power

Have you ever been to a medium? This is someone who is filled with a spirit or spirits, and can perform miraculous things like making your business successful, casting a spell on someone, or making someone like you. I have been to mediums when I was young. This was when my mother was still a Hindu. But praise God my first and last encounter after I became Christian was incredible. I only understood it years later.

As was the practice at that time, I was brought to the medium just before an important government examination at the age of 15 (I became a follower of Jesus at the age of 14). We were in a line waiting our turn. I could hear the lady medium speaking in a man's voice to the people in front of us. However, when it came to our turn, the lady moved to her regular voice and simply said, "Obey your parents" and the session was over. Now I understand what happened. The spirit that possessed her came out out because the Jesus in me was greater than her spirit. She could do nothing except give advice. The people of Israel were told not to meddle with mediums.

Leviticus 19:31, Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

We need not seek mediums because we have God. We are with Him on His side. It is sad that many people who claim to be Christians also seek the help of mediums. I pray that they fully understand the power and authority they have with the Lord their God. Even the people of Israel needed to understand this. Jesus who has all authority under heaven is with us always. He promised.

Father, you are my strength and power. I need no other.

Seek a good personal testimony

In the same way you can have professional wedding planners, you also have funeral planners. I know some of you who are superstitious will be saying "touch wood". I have written something on this before and you can read it here. Have you planned your funeral? I have not and neither did Abraham plan his wife's funeral until her death. Don't get me wrong. Nothing wrong with planning your funeral but there is something interesting here in this chapter. Rags to riches need something else

Can the impossible become possible? I have read many stories of rags to riches and have been naturally impressed by everything that has been said. It required great persistence, hardwork, endurance and something else. That something else is what differentiates between one rags to riches story, and the many other rags to rags stories. He has plans to prosper you

Over 30 years ago I was contemplating my plans for the future while helping a dear Brother in the Lord do some minor repairs around the house. Nothing serious was moving in my applications for jobs in Canada or the US. At a Monday night College and Career Bible Study at Stone Church , Toronto, I got my direction through this passage and some other information God placed there that night. And so within a week I bought my one way ticket to Malaysia. That was a significant move for me as a 23 year old. You will look good

In today's world many are not happy with how they look naturally. They do everything possible to get it "right". Some of these include almost permanent changes that affects their bodies for the rest of their lives. This includes tattoos. I am not going to saying anything about this but we need to be careful about the agenda of people that do these things. There is something better. Revelation 22:4, They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. How God's name is going to be on our foreheads, I am not sure. But it would be like wearing a uniform of an organization that you are very proud of, and want to be associated with publicly. There will also be the tree of life. There will be no more pain. You are powerless

Years ago I watched a movie that played out the end times based on Revelations. It was quite dramatic and scary, but had a happy ending. This is what has been planned from the beginning of time. This chapter in Revelations gives a quick snapshot of the end. Revelation 20:4, And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. It did not occur to me until much later in my Christian life that there will be a thousand years when followers of Christ will reign on earth. Satan will be bound at this time and he will not be able to touch the saints that will be resurrected at this time. Yet there will still be those who reject God.
