Your body is created pure

It is an interesting exercise to see how prostitution came into each society and became a prominent but yet behind the scenes business. It obviously took two to tango, but the provider of the service is the most vulnerable since they do it for financial reasons, or because they were intimidated into the trade, or both. How do we stop this menace? The solution is to look to Jesus. Paul clearly pointed out that those who engage in sexual impropriety will not be able to inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

The statements here are very direct, and the word is clear. However, many do not heed this; young, old, ordinary people, celebrities, corporate figures and even highly decorated people of society.  They need to break from the habits or lifestyles that cause them to do the unnatural. There is a clear call for us to keep pure and correct. It starts with making good choices.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20
Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

John the apostle clearly states that if the love of God is in our hearts then we cannot be engaging in thoughts and actions that cause our bodies to be impure.  He uses the famous three temptations that we need to resist; the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Father, my life is surrendered to you for your work because I love you.  Keep my body pure.
