Have you ever been quoted as a spokesperson of an organization for a newspaper or other media organization? I have been in many occasions, and I used to run a number of media organizations. But the first time I was ever quoted was the most memorable.
My first job was with a management consulting firm that I joined at the age of 23. A cold call came in asking for our opinion on some information technology matter. The operator passed the call to me and the next day my name and my quote was in the papers. I became the talk of the firm. There is another man who was not so ready to talk.
Exodus 4:15, Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do.
Moses had two great objections. Speech and authority. God promised him words and Aaron. The very words of God will fill his mouth. Nothing missed and full of power. God decided to call Aaron to come to the wilderness to meet Moses and bless him as well.
The second objection with regards to authority was taken care of by his shepherd's rod that became God's rod.
Exodus 4:20, Then Moses took his wife and his sons and set them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt. And Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
He performed miracles with it in front of his people Israel and gained confidence. God promised that he would send the various plagues against Pharoah before he met him.
Do you have a problem with speech and authority? Look to God. He will take care of it. Father, you are with me always and you will take care of it.
