At the spur of the moment and without losing any time we make a decision, and for better or for worse we experience the consequences of the decision. Or, should we hold our decisions, lose time and have no impact? You have been told to be decisive and in others cases you have been told to take time to ponder your decision. Which is right?
In the midst of a terrible fire in London, a baby was saved when thrown to someone below. We don't know the final outcome but at that moment the parent needed to make a decision. Making a decision for God is like that. You know you got nothing after death. So you better make a decision with someone who offers a proven solution. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice and rose again from the dead.
Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
God came to provide us the perfect sacrifice and rose again to show He had power over death. Be decisive! There is no better alternative. We are encouraged to have confidence and live with endurance for the promise that God has promised for all of mankind. It starts with an important decision to follow Jesus.
Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:
Father, I am am abiding in you forever.
