While there is a need for transition from humanly capable logic to faith to be able comprehend who God is, what His purposes are, and His desired relationship with us, there is so much that can in fact be understood with human understanding. Hence, we have the whole area of study, that cannot be neglected, in the area of defending Christian doctrines through systematic argumentation and discourse.
Many have had the opportunities to speak about Jesus Christ and the reasons for faith in Him to large, sometimes abusive, audiences. With the internet you have an added platform to speak the truth of the gospel to many without the need for travel. In Paul's days that was not so.
Paul went to city after city to share the Word. He always went to the local synagogues and shared the message of the gospel there. In many of these places he is chased. In Acts Chapter 17 he had great trouble in Thessalonica and they pursued him to Berea. As a result, he had to leave by sea to Athens where for the first time he had the first recorded public audience in a non Jewish formal location.
And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new doctrine is of which you speak? For you are bringing some strange things to our ears. Therefore we want to know what these things mean.” For all the Athenians and the foreigners who were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing.
He made his famous statement about the Greeks worshiping the unknown God. He was welcomed and listened to. This is an important milestone for the movement as the gospel message gets out of the Jewish platform. In the process Paul was moving into the marketplace of the general public. The message of the kingdom was getting to all peoples direct. No limitation. All people need the Lord. This was a great milestone that started with Peter's ministry in Cornelius' home. This demonstrated how the vision given to Abraham would be fulfilled. He was to be a blessing to all families of the earth; a blessing to all the nations of the earth.
I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
Father, help me to use every platform possible to reach all peoples.
